Sources say....

During a week when the Dallas Cowboys have internal turmoil nipping at their noses and T.O. shooting down reports, from unnamed sources, that he was jealous of the Witten-Romo relationship. On sports-talk radio they were holding polls, on whom you believed; the sources and what they say or the players and what they say. All of this was a reminder to me of whose report I choose to believe when turmoil seems to be the order of the day.

I'll break it down like this; when internal turmoil comes my way, or when external turmoil distracts me from my focus; who am I listening to? Who is my source and what does my source say?

Habakkuk 3:1 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, according to Shigionoth. 2 O Lord, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O Lord, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.

Habakkuk said it best, "I have heard the report of you, and your work, do I fear!" Despite the work of the enemy to create turmoil in the lives of believers; despite the turmoil that I myself create; despite the reports that are all around of gloom, doom and despair in our economy. I have heard of the report of God, who is seated on His throne, and I have seen His work in my life, and it is Him whom I will reverence and fear.

As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I believe what the sources say when they describe Jesus' ministry through the scriptures. I believe the sources when they tell me that I have been sent as a follower of Jesus and co-heir with Him to proclaim the Kingdom of God! I believe the reports that tell me that The Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven have been given to me and I now have the same power, the same Holy Spirit living in me.

When Jesus Began His ministry the scriptures say in Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

That is the report that I believe and one that I want to proclaim; Jesus in the power of the Spirit moving through me and my life and Jesus being glorified by all.

The sources we turn to are vital to living a life of peace or turmoil; ultimately we choose whom we will serve. I make a choice this day to believe the report of the Lord, that has been given to me through scriptures and through the revelation of the Holy Spirit.

Sources say...Joshua 24:14 “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether h the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Amen!
